Thesis update

There will be one, I'm sure of it. The stacks of paper are reducing - although I must confess much of what I'm looking at is what my professor would call 'background'. However, how can you talk about the foreground if you don't understand the background fully?! At any rate, the piles of paper are going down, and I'm not adding anything new any more (there was a point where every new article I read led to me collecting another 5 or 6 ...). So, well behind schedule, but still plugging away!

My former PhD supervisor once observed to me (about a post doc project) 'The trouble with you is that everything starts with "Slowly the earth began to cool".' But I know precisely what you mean. You need context.
