Again with the violence

themis1If anybody out there is wondering why there was a long gap between entry 1 and this, it's because (1) our broadband decided to take itself off line and (2) Kit hasn't managed to instal the chip in my old puter so I can log in from there, which I use rather more often than this laptop, kindly provided by my employer.
I had actually started a second entry, some musings about Sundays, when the the broadband failed, perhaps when I'm logged in again on a Sunday I'll repost them - I think I saved them somewhere.
Usually I sit in an office cursing the Skynews screen right in my line of vision, which is on all day just in case something happens and the guys and gals have to leap into action to manage it. Today, as luck would have it, I have the day off - it should've been tomorrow but I ended up with an unavoidable meeting, so my line manager told me to take today instead - and I got out of bed, had a bath and wandered down into Bicestershire to get my hair cut, only to find my hairstylist panicking about a friend of hers in London. One doesn't like to say, "Why's that?"
So, as someone who is usually far more up-to-date than I'd care to be about the news, today, when it mattered, I hadn't a clue.
Kind of ironic, really.
The Tig, however, thinks it's all wonderful, since she's had more TV-watching-mummy than on any other day, and she does like to curl up against my thigh and sleep.
