It's a very long time since I updated this - 'must try harder', my school teachers were right after all!!

Am at home working on rewriting essay. I'm sure I will somehow do this, but not quite sure when (and the deadline's looming!).

We have a toad in the garden. I've grown quite fond of him over the summer. He appears unexpectedly - once, when I was rearranging the stones in the pond; another time, hopping quietly up the path, and so on ... I have absolutely no objection to having a toad; they eat slugs, which would otherwise be munching on my flowers. I do have some mild concerns that the neighbours will conclude we really *are* witches, but perhaps they haven't noticed it's a toad I occasionally speak to and just think it's one of the cats ...

So, welcome Hoppity - you are welcome to stay as long as you like!

In other news, Jeff has gone and signed a contact for a daytime soap (ATWT). *sigh* Great role for him, good income I expect, but something I am unlikely to ever actually see!

I'm in much the same situation - somehow unless I'm at work I don't post very much, at least the diary-type bits. Of course, if something amusing happens it seems a shame to waste it.

The frogs in my garden are much better off next door, where there is much more shade, standing water they can get to, and no cats. I never knew how loud frogs could squeal until two of ours started catching them....

Phoebe did express some interest in 'there's something rustling in this flower bed', but since we don't let them out at night if we can avoid it and Hoppity generally doesn't come out by day, they don't usually coincide. I'm not sure even Phoebe would do anything if she did find out what was causing the rustling, like our other two cats she's an old lady and far too dignified to be seen leaping on anything (while anyone's looking, at least - I did see her make a grab for a butterfly the other day!).

You do have a few other things demanding your attention ... *g*

Glad to hear that Hoppity is still around and doing well!

I haven't seen him lately, but Lynn encountered him when she was staying with us the other weekend.
