Oh, what a day!

Went in to work this morning confident that I could escape after my morning meeting, return home and tackle the vast pile of paper rapidly taking over the dining table (please don't ask why, when I have two studies, my work piles up on the dining table).

The phone kept ringing.
There were numerous e-mails.
The meeting lasted an hour longer than I'd expected it to.
The noise level in the (ghastly open plan) office rose as the day progressed.
Everything took longer than I expected.

In the end, escaped at 3:30 which meant by the time I'd got home, let the cats out, cleaned out the litter tray, fed the returning cats, and emptied out my briefcase ... it was time to pick up Phoebe's mum.

As a result, sorting out the paper into something vaguely resembling sense took until 7:15 pm.

And the job already owes me 40 hours ...

Sigh.

Oh yes, and I might get round to posting Mythichistorian's story - but I'm waiting for her to send me the code to do it as a cut!!
