Testing, testing ...
Nov. 26th, 2006 01:06 pmI have a new video card. I am particularly proud of this because it involved taking the side off my computer, taking the old card out, putting the new one in, and installing the new drivers. This may not seem like much to most people, but it was a big deal for me!
Now I should go and try NWN2 and see if the darned thing actually runs at a speed that makes it playable.
All this for a computer game ...
The biggest joke about the whole thing is, when I went looking for a new card the spec I needed appeared to cost well over £100.
"Try dabs.com," said the occasional man around the house.
"Er, they have a special today which is only £31."
"I think they may have missed a one off that ...!"
Whether they did or not, that's what they charged (plus postage).
So can I claim my hardware engineer badge??
