themis1The mystery of the broadband signal continues ... for three days, nothing. Today - best reception ever. Had Phoebesmum done anything different at her end? No ...
Our Xmas 'do' is on the 9th December - good and early, I thought, won't clash with anyone else's. Turns out Phoebesmum's is the same night!! Kit may have to escort me and chauffeur her simultaneously (hers doesn't include partners).
I have another Xmas do that week now, too, since on the 6th I have to be in Luton and my PhD Professor's booked a restaurant for Xmas dinner for us students!! Of course this does mean between now and then I really have to do something with the stacks of paper I've accumulated, such as read them.
Reading will be greatly helped when my mysterious dose of conjunctivitis, or something similar, goes away. Currently eye is still half bright red, which would've enabled me to threaten Halloweeners with the evil eye, had we answered the door to any of them ...
The summer's pot pourri was duly burned, and the goddess libated. The neighbours must wonder why, four times a year, we have such sweet-smelling bonfires!!
And the solar lights in the garden really do only work on days the sun's been out ...

Date: 2005-11-02 08:16 pm (UTC)I don't think we'll be getting a DBA Xmas dinner, but since there will be feasting in Grenoble in March, I don't think I'll complain. I've got as far as starting on my mind map and have subsequently been distracted by trying to write case files for the conference seminar at the end of the month. I'm claiming that as practice in Action Research!
Yay for libations and sacrifical pot pourri! I managed a candle (or two) and a tarot reading. Card in 'fears and concerns' was pointing at research and knowledge ... So nothing I didn't already know there then! *g*
